Everybody wins with Our Client Success Stories
This is why we do it. Most of our big wins happen during and immediately after transitioning from a different service provider because our clients can’t believe how enjoyable IT can be. In other cases, we are tasked with complex office moves, implementation of new software systems, or large equipment deployments. Whatever you throw at us, we are ready to handle it with a smile!
Client Success Story in Columbia: 87 Computers in 3 Days!
We work with a number of government agencies and when they are ready to replace equipment, they need it done quickly and efficiently. In this particular case, an agency that works with the Department of Workforce needed 87 computers replaced in multiple resource areas across multiple physical locations. On top of that, they needed the computers replaced and ready for action within a 3-day period! This particular agency was under contract with another agency and required to provide a certain level of computer equipment by a certain date - the director (our customer) was extremely worried about losing the contract.
We had to get relevant software and connections installed during the preparation process, properly label and manage inventory parameters, physically install and test the devices, and move the old computers to storage at the customer’s headquarters.
Our standard operating procedures, policy manual, and runbooks combined with our awesome technical team made this seem like a breeze! Not only did the computers get installed ahead of schedule, both of the agencies’ teams were very impressed with the deployment. The director’s board even noted their surprise at how quickly this project was accomplished!
Client Success Story in West Columbia: Peeping Toms and Hostages!
Shortly after opening our doors, we were referred by an existing customer to a travel agency who stated they were interested in possibly switching to a new IT vendor. Here is what was discussed and discovered during our initial assessment:
Internet outages happened approximately once per day due to bandwith shortages most likely caused by their current vendor backing up EVERY computer multiple times per day
They were paying for more computers than they owned, but there service provider refused to change the bill
When there was a minor request, they had to wait days for a resolution
Multiple antivirus services were in place causing numerous performance issues
These are all very frustrating, but not necessarily noteworthy. Here’s where it get’s interesting: during our initial tour, we were shocked to find out that the staff kept their webcams covered because their current IT vendor was watching them without permission - one person came in to work one morning and the IT guy said hello to her via her computer microphone (he even told her he’d been watching for her to come in)! In another instance, the staff was discussing their frustrations with a computer and their vendor called and said he had been listening to them and was calling to assist.
The owner was furious, but when he called to cancel services, he was told that his email would get shut down. Without email, he’d be out of business since most of his communications around the world were done via email. So, he’s paying too much, he has multiple performance issues, his staff feels violated, and now his email accounts are being held hostage. To say he and his management staff were worried about making a change is an understatement.
Our team was pretty shocked as well, but not worried in the least. We were able to quickly identify the best course of action, test theories about transitioning control of email and other systems, schedule a cutover date, and then complete the transition. Within an hour after the scheduled cutover, the customer was ecstatic to be finished with their previous service provider and already referring Seras IT to other businesses!
Client Success Story in Fort Mill: Triple Threats? No Problem!
A few years ago, one of our favorite customers in Rock Hill decided to:
Close their existing administrative office AND their existing production facilities in Rock Hill
Move to a huge warehouse in Fort Mill AND remodel the office areas
Replace ALL of their servers
What a challenge. On top of these three major projects, we had just acquired this customer via a small acquisition in the Rock Hill area and had not yet forged the strong relationship that we have with them now.
Scheduling move dates for specific technology equipment was easy and much less stressful than the customer expected. Once moved in, our technicians were on site for an additional business day to assist users as they moved into new workstations. Moves are always fun because they include our infrastructure teams, our engineering team, and some of our baseline technician team! We met with their contractors and installed new data drops in several areas, built out their network closets, and got everyone connected well ahead of schedule (including wireless access points throughout an expansive warehouse and production area).
Their previous service provider had quoted them $50,000-$60,000 for the new server and after a quick conference with our Dell representatives, we were able to get them a quote that included labor, a lower hardware cost, and a faster turnaround for about $18,000. We established contact early with third-party application technical teams and ensured that the new server transition had a zero-impact on their users’ workday. Who could ask for more?
