Working From Home?

Seras is kicking off our six-series theme of working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. We understand that businesses are making tough decisions and doing everything they can to keep employees safe AND productive. While timeliness and efficiency are a top priority, we understand that critical data must be protected and we offer a variety of options for products, services, and configurations.

Working From Home: A Series on Convenience vs. Compliance

Working From Home

Nearly all businesses have been affected by the recent COVID-19 outbreak and have already begun making adjustments to staff roles and workflow within their organization. Employees are nervous and some may be refusing to perform their normal duties due to increased risk based on age or pre-existing health conditions. In other cases, commercial customers may be closed or consumers may be reluctant to buy based on environmental factors. In both cases, businesses are faced with tough decisions - send employees home to burn through their vacation time and then stay home on unpaid leave; OR get creative and find unique ways for these employees to help the organization in a different role - often working from home.

Many of Seras’ customers across the greater Columbia market already have at least one employee that has remote access in place, but are scrambling to quickly get everyone else setup. Some smaller organizations are still working without an efficient file-sharing system in place, while others are trying to figure out how to share critical databases for critical functions such as Quickbooks.

Seras assists diverse group of industries - we are well aware of external influences that can affect the storage, transmission, and safe handling of critical or protected information. As we provide assistance, Seras always attempts to balance the scales: security vs. convenience or in some cases, compliance vs. convenience. Regardless of security requirements and the quality of software used, employees will still need assistance at times and Seras is always accessible!
